One of my favorite methods is to drag an empty page to the place you want it to be in the existing structure. You can add the pagetitle immediately, press enter, and the page is created. Default it is hidden from the website, which is good because it has no content yet. You can unhide (and hide) the page at any time.

If a page is unhidden that page is shown in the navigation menu on the website for visitors to click to.

  • Do you want a page to be visible on the website - so it is unhidden - but not available in the navigation menu? That is possible by setting it to "hide in menu".
  • Do you want a website login for certain branches in your website? Pages can also be hidden until a visitor is logged in.
  • Do you want to publish a webpage at a given time? You can schedule a date and time to release the page for the public. You can also do that to hide a page in the future.
  • Do you need a link to pages in external websites inside your navigaiton menu? That is one of the many other page types that TYPO3 can create next to this standard one.
  • Do you have to create many pages at once? Bulk page creation is possible up to a hundred pages at once in the backend, and more even with an import tool.
  • Do you want to give a page another place in the navigation menu? For instance, to get a page lower or higher in a submenu, or inside another main menu, you can drag and drop the page on the desired spot in the pagetree. There are other automated tools too to put pages in alphabetical order, or ordered on date and time, for instance.
  • Do you want to change the pagetitle or other settings, for instance for SEO? You can edit everything at any given moment.
