On this page I show you how to move pages, or copy them

You move pages for a few reasons. Because your website is growing and requires restructuring. Or because you want to make a page stand out more in the navigation menu. For SEO, to make it more logical. You also move pages because you simply made a mistake, or because you are busy building your website and don't know it at first. In any case, it is important that it is easy to do.

This could have been the shortest demo video ever, because moving pages around is essentially just a matter of pick up - drag - release. Still, it is worth taking a closer look at it and that is why I am showing some variants. You can see how it works in the backend and how it works out on the frontend, the website. The position in the navigation menu changes. So you can easily improve your site.

With the same action you can also copy a complete page, including the content. Because there is more to this, it will not be included in this demo.

The basic operation of dragging pages within a TYPO3 CMS website

One of my favorite methods is to drag the page to be moved to the desired spot in the existing structure. This is also possible with hidden pages.

There are other methods that may be more useful in larger websites: cut & paste per page, cut & paste for many pages at once, various ways of sorting, creating redirects, moving down and up with buttons. However, these are fodder for a workout.

If a page is not hidden, the link to it will be shown in the new position in the navigation menu.

Copying is almost identical. It does require some extra actions, because you usually want a different page title and different content. Usually one copies to reuse the structure. However, I do not recommend copying quickly, it should be done deliberately.
